Coming up with your dj name

Picking your DJ name is like naming a child.  You’re going to be known as that name as long as you’re performing.  This can especially pose a problem when you become a famous DJ.  You can still change it at that point, but it’s difficult because of the notoriety you’ve obtained using that name.  Many major DJs use their name as a means of creative expression and choose to change it whenever it seems to fit the direction of their career.  Switching your name too many times can have its consequences though.  If people don’t remember your face, they’re going to wonder who exactly is performing under a DJ name they’ve never heard of.  They will say that you look familiar, but you will otherwise be forgettable because they have some expectation of you due to your former name.
Your likes and dislikes, the type of music you perform in, and who you are as a person can all factor into the process of coming up with your DJ name.  Once you pick the right name, you will know because it will sound good rolling off your tongue and the crowds will love it.  There’s nothing better than having a crowd cheer you on whenever you perform because your name was remarkable enough to help them remember your performance.  DJ names that are bad should be changed right away.  Those of you who have a silly DJ name need to change it right now.  Coming up with your DJ name isn’t hard, so you will be able to find a replacement somehow.
